Grant Information

We seek to fund specific projects which focus on teens to expolore and develop career opportunities. We look for extracurricular programs to expose, prepare and teach young people skills necessary to create a rich and rewarding future for themselves. It is our intent to supplement the efforts of student and PTA fundraising - NOT to eliminate the need for it. We believe these "hands-on efforts" provide an important learning experience for our youth and helps prepare them for the many demands on their time and energy in the future.

Because we are a smaller, private foundation, we try to make more, smaller grants, for specialized use.  We would prefer to do something small, yet meaningful, for 20 different schools, groups and organizations than fund the operating budget of one facility for a year. Our grants range from $100-$5,000.

Grants are reviewed and funds distributed three times a year.  Cut off dates are listed on the calendar tab along with the date when you may look to see the grants approved.  If your grant request is not listed, it was not approved.  An email explaining the decision will be sent to the email address submitting the application. All grants not approved will be destroyed.  It will be necessary to resubmit your grant application (with tax-exempt status) if you would like to be considered another period.

Also, because we want to keep more funds available for grants, we operate with a volunteer staff and try to do as much as possible via e-mail.  If you have specific questions, we will try to answer them. E-mail us at:  mail@kobefoundation.org

The next page contains the Grant Application Form which should be filled out COMPLETELY.  We rely on an entirely volunteer staff for everything including grant reviews. As a result, it is ESSENTIAL that you use the on-line form provided to apply for a grant. It may be submitted ON LINE or printed and MAILED, but only applications submitted on this form will be considered. Click Here to view the Grant Application Form.

In either case, a copy of your IRS 501( c) (3) LETTER must be received by mail prior to the cut off date in order to be considered.  If you are part of the public school system, a copy of your IRS letter is not required.  Simply indicate that you are a part of the XYZ School District.
